Know what
you’re looking at.
A field is a clue. Context still matters.
What can I see in this checker?
The checker displays every field it can read from supported metadata sections: camera and lens details, exposure settings, dates, GPS, author and copyright, XMP, IPTC, color profiles, image properties, comments and text such as AI prompts. It also flags embedded Content Credentials. Available fields depend on the file; proprietary or unreadable data may not be decoded.
Does it tell me whether an image is AI-generated?
No. A generator name or prompt can be a useful clue, but metadata can be edited or removed. This tool does not analyze pixels or verify the authenticity of C2PA signatures. A missing AI tag does not prove a photo was made by a person.
Does checking change my photo?
No. Inspection reads your file without rewriting it. If you choose Clean this image, the cleaner creates a separate copy. Your original stays unchanged.
Why are there no fields in my result?
Some images have already been stripped of metadata. Others store information in fields this checker does not support. No supported metadata found means exactly that; it is not a guarantee that the file contains no hidden information.
